This project featured a rear extension in the beautiful village of Lowdham. Designed for a couple whose children had flown the nest, the aim was to create a bright, spacious area where they could enjoy day-to-day living as well as entertaining family and friends when everyone comes together.
Featuring a pitched roof in traditional clay pan tiles, roof lights were also installed to increase the amount of natural light into the home, creating an open and welcoming environment that feels connected to the outdoors.
One of the key challenges of the site was the significant change in levels between the house and the rear garden. As the garden sits higher than the existing ground floor level, the rear wall of the extension was designed to act as a retaining structure, carefully engineered to accommodate the raised landscape while integrating seamlessly into the overall design.
The result is a light-filled and inviting extension that has transformed the way our clients use their home, providing a comfortable space for everyday living and a wonderful place to gather with family and friends for years to come.
