The owners of this detached chalet style bungalow in the village of Ravenshead, bordering picturesque Newstead Abbey, wanted to extend and modernise their recently purchased home. Walker Design were hired to produce the design and submit for full planning permission, as well as provide the building regulations drawings ahead of appointing a builder to start the works.
During several site visits, including one with our structural engineer, we gradually refined the design until the client was happy with the 2D floor layout and 3D form. Following this, we produced 3D renders of the front and back of the house, and the project was submitted to the council for planning approval.
We are now waiting for the planning decision date to arrive, where we will begin to produce the building regulations design pack. Walker Design are also on hand to recommend experienced builders and building inspectors to handle the construction phase. We will be attending site to check the quality of the work throughout the build.
